Purchasing a budget In-ear headphone doesn’t mean you have to compromise on the quality as without a sound quality that isn’t anywhere near desirable, a headphone would be a waste of money. Moreover, headphones aren’t just a device, it silently reflects the inner taste of audio of the person who owns it. Yeah, that sounds sort of spiritual, but you can’t deny that fact. Let’s jump into our picks for the amazing headphones that have a price tag under ₹1000.
What To Expect From Headphones Under 1000 Rs
Before you start reading about our picks for the best headphones under 1000 Rs, there are few things to keep in mind. The price category is budget friendly for an average user and as such you should not expect much in terms of sound quality. Here are few things to understand before purchasing a headphone under the 1000 mark:
- Sound Quality – You should never expect the quality of the sound to be exceptional, even if it is from a very well known brand. It will be acceptable and yes will have a definite focus on the bass.
- Build Quality – Headphones in this price category would generally be manufactured using plastics. Don’t expect to have metallic ear cups or tips. The cable is usually prone to tangling.
- Other Features – Don’t expect these headphones to have high-quality earpad cushions. They may not be soft as you expect and as such won’t be ideal for listening to music for a long time continuously. Not all headphones in this price range come with a mic and remote. But the in-ear headphone types come with mic usually.
Sennheiser CX 180 Street II
If you are fond of hearing music and your budget is under Rs.1000, then the Sennheiser CX 180 Street II is your perfect choice. Some time back, I did a detailed review of the CX 180.
A well defined and smooth bass with a really good sound quality, the CX 180 produces audio that gives you a pleasurable feeling. Take it out while you go out for jogging or maybe a workout. It just blends in with our mood. The plastics aren’t the best out there, but I am pretty sure that won’t be an issue for any budget earphone.
The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a built-in microphone. Well, for music lovers, that won’t count as a negative point. The CX 180 is perfect for rock and bass-heavy songs. If you use an Equaliser, then you will definitely get a better audio experience.
Where To Buy
An amazing earphone from the popular audio device brand JBL. A budget earphone model that remains one of the most popular budget earphones in the market today. Light-weight and nice quality plastics make this earphone look good in hands.
The C100SI provides a wonderful audio experience via the help of the advanced 9mm audio driver unit. Here again, a bass-lover is going to love it for sure. Though during our review of JBL C100SI, I noticed sound leaks for the mid and high audio levels, everything else seemed just fine.
The ear tips are soft and thus allows the user to use the earphones for longer duration comfortably, without any uneven pressure on your ears.
The quality of the non-flat rubber wire is average and such prone to tangling. This means if you are not careful, then possibly within six or seven months, the cable may start to wear off.
Where To Buy
Xiaomi Mi Earphones Basic
The most affordable quality In-Ear headphones from the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. Though very low on budget, this earphone comes with pretty good built quality and sound quality.
If you have ever visited a Mi showroom near you, you will have felt the need to purchase at least one product from there. This is one such experience – buying the Mi Earphones Basic.
The Noise cancellation in these earphones is just amazing. For the price, I would say it did much better than what the JBL C100SI had to offer. At times, during our review of Xiaomi Mi Earphones Basic, I felt that the noise cancellation was not the best, in fact, it was average or below while we attend calls via the earphone. This was particularly an issue when calls were done in an open environment like on the roads.
For usual music experience, this headphone would be good although music lovers won’t love it and would rate the sound quality as just okay. The bass is good and you won’t complain about it. If you are a person who is into gaming, then stay away from this headphone. But, if you are a person who is into riding bikes, jogging and other such activities, then invest in this budget headphone and you won’t regret.
The ear tips are nice but not suitable for wearing for long durations.
